St. Andrews - Gin House 7s

A promising start to the season for the Bareback Riders. The draw for the pools was initially daunting, with 2 of the tournaments 'best' teams with us in Pool 4. They posed no challenge for the class outfit which made the journey from distant lands. We topped the pool with an awe inspiring 4 wins 1 draw, circa 120 pts for and 14 against, a feat matched by no others. This opened up the route to the 1/4's. The quarter final draw was imperative and lead us to play Stewarts Melville, the only club team present on the day. After some abysmal refereeing, confirmed by both teams, we fell short to the Smell, 17-14. Needless to say team manger, Donald 'the Snake' Snodgrass made a minor verbal complaint to the official, enraged by the poor poor quality of his judgment.

The ensuing night was only attended by 1/2 the team, the snake, Sanjuan, Liston and our 2 recruits on the day, Andy and Phil. A good night had by all, starting with a BBQ at one of the native's houses. Having no alcohol or food when we arrived we procured a 3l bottle of Strongbow from the kitchen and some kind hearted soul's burgers off the grill. We then moved to the Gin House where the snake and Sanjuan began abusing the great offer of 2-4-1 breezers, which then lead to abusing posh English chicks. The snake took it upon himself to take out the future king with his gangly pins. Our next port of call was Ali Night's pad, swiftly trashed by all. Again the snake and Sanjuan located some free alcohol in the back garden, a crate of Stella, nice. This only enhanced our abuse levels as the snake then decided we quite fancied a Champagne Rugby top and Sanjuan consoled his sweet tooth with a rather nice Easter egg.
